Claire Jo Harmer is a contemporary painter whose work is inspired by colour, movement and the emotional connection we have to landscape and memory. Working predominantly in acrylic, she creates expressive semi abstract pieces filled with layered textures, energetic mark making and bold colour palettes.

Her paintings often begin intuitively, building up through loose gestural brushwork and transparent layers before gradually revealing atmosphere, depth and form. There is a real sense of spontaneity within her work, balanced with carefully considered composition and colour.
