Creating artwork through a nature-derived process in The Lake District. Each piece begins outdoors: often up a mountain, or lake-side. Charlotte’s paintings consist entirely of captured moments from The Lake District. Movements of birds’ flight are recorded in the form of lines and once back in the studio carefully transcribed onto the canvas. New data is gathered for each painting, with no line ever repeated. Upon completion, the artwork is taken back outdoors - interweaving the artwork's creation with nature once more. Colour palettes and sizes can vary but one thing remains a constant, encompassing the origin of Charlotte’s artistic practice: appreciation of our breathtaking Cumbrian landscape.
